This is Vogue 8470.
The outer layer is a sheer black georgette, flatlined to a layer of red faux habutae. The midriff panel is a printed crepe, and the bodice and skirt are lined with the red. The sleeves are a single layer of georgette.
There’s also a matching sash in the printed crepe, but I forgot to take a picture of that before I parcelled everything up to go off to Laura!
This dress has been something of a learning curve for me, as I don’t normally work with fabrics which are as slippery as crepe and georgette.
I’m pleased with the results, and I can’t wait to see pictures of the dress being worn, but I don’t know that I’ll be rushing to work with these types of fabric again.
