Simplest Scarf in the World - free pattern!
Aug 19th, 2008 by Claire
You will need:
1 ball of DK/worsted weight yarn
1 pair 4mm (UK 8, US 6) needles
1 single 10mm (UK 000, US 15) needle
Cast on 35 stitches with 4mm needles
Rows 1-3, knit with 4mm needles
Row 4, knit with 10mm needle
Continue until you’ve almost run out of yarn, and cast off!
It’s best to cast off with the smaller needles.
You can use just about any weight of yarn for this pattern. You’ll need a pair of needles which match the size recommended on the ball band, and one needle at least double that size. For very chunky yarns, you might want to use two balls to make a longer scarf.
If you’d like to receive a postcard featuring the photograph above, with the knitting pattern printed on the back, you can buy one in my Etsy Store.
