As it turned out the Victorian Redcoats didn’t have to shelter for very long, but it was certainly very wet while it [...]

Jeffery~West have done it again. I only went to their website to see whether there was anything left in the sale that was a) in my size and b) purple. (Sadly not, on both counts.) And then I thought I’d just have a little look to see whether there was anything new… which is when [...]

A friend on Facebook alerted me to the fact that Converse currently have a Dr Seuss collection! I’m terribly disappointed that the “One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish” designs are only available on kids’ shoes. I’d love a pair of these!

Every now and then I get an idea in my head about the sort of clothes I’d like to wear. First I look for existing sewing patterns, and then I think I might draft something for myself. And then I have another little look around the internet, and discover that somebody else has already done [...]

Yesterday I went into London, to visit the Foale & Tuffin exhibition at the Fashion & Textile Museum with a friend. Afterwards I had a few hours to spare until I was due to meet another friend for tea, so I’d planned to spend the afternoon looking at the Relics of Old London exhibition at [...]

My friend Patrick is a Very Bad Influence. We were talking about shoes, and he pointed me in the direction of Jeffery-West. Now we’re both coveting beautiful shoes that we can’t afford – and they aren’t even made in my size! (And I still haven’t saved up enough money to go on a shoemaking course.) [...]

It’s a good job I’m not a goth any more. Nor a costumer, nor simply a collector of amazing shoes. Otherwise I’d have to buy these: Probably in the black velvet. (Available here, for £60. They’re by Pleaser.) Seeing these has put me straight into the mood for wearing the most enormous skirt, and a [...]
