I never seem to have a great deal of luck with summer shoes. Every year I buy a pair that look as though they ought to be comfortable, and every year I end up with terrible blisters. I’ve pretty much given up hope of finding a pair of smart shoes that I can wear in [...]

Hooray, my new clogs have arrived!
Anne is right, and Walkley clogs don’t really have curved enough soles for dancing in.
But these were the only pair of clogs on Ebay, they happened to be in my size, and they were very cheap indeed. So these are the clogs that I’ll have to make do with, until [...]

Today we went to the Chiltern Open Air Museum, and I got to pet this little lamb! He is ten days old! Bless!
We also saw an encampment of the Romano-British re-enactment Group, the Vicus.
As you might expect, I very much enjoyed the fashion show. Lots of tunics! And a demonstration of toga wrapping. I’ve taken [...]

Ever since my visit to the Museum of English Rural Life, I can’t stop thinking about clogs.
The pair above (which I believe are the same ones that you can try on in the museum) are an eight-eyelet farmer’s style clog made by Walkley Clogs. I’ve been coveting a pair of these for years and years, [...]

Yes, I know - yet another pair of pink shoes that I can’t wear!
These are by Vivienne Westwood, her men’s Hammer Head style in bright pink. I first saw these in a magazine advert, and scoured the internet to find a place where I could buy them.

Now I just need to save up £64, and these little beauties can be mine…

This month’s Elle magazine comes with a £15 gift card for Kurt Geiger.
Ten lucky winners will have a card worth £1000. Sadly I’m not one of them, or this would have been a much more extravagant post! The catch is that you have to sign over your contact details to both Elle and Kurt Geiger [...]

I have to say that jelly shoes have undergone something of a transformation since I was a kid!
As a child of the 80s I remember jelly shoes all too well - and the agonising blisters that went with them. These amazing purple brogues by Melissa couldn’t be further removed from the plastic shoes of twenty [...]

I received a little parcel in the post at the weekend, and discovered that Chloe had painted my perfect shoes!
If you’d like to see more of Chloe’s paintings, you can look at them on Flickr, or you can buy them in her Etsy shop.
This one’s on a 20cm square box canvas, and I love the [...]

You know that strange phenomenon where as soon as you start to become obsessed by something, you suddenly see it everywhere?
I was flipping through the February edition of Elle UK, and spotted these lovelies:
I wonder what colour those patent Church’s brogues are in Real Life? Once again they’re Oxfords though, so I wouldn’t be able [...]
