Jewellery making mood.

I was in a jewellery making mood today, so I’ve just finished putting together this necklace.
It’s a leather cord, with twenty purple sunstone beads attached - they’re a very dark purple colour with a glitter sparkle when the light catches them. The beads are hung in pairs, so that they hang in bunches and at [...]

Scarves for bees!

No, not tiny little woollies to keep them warm. Instead, Seasalt in Cornwall are holding their annual “Go Knit!” charity drive.
This year they’re collecting donations of hand knitted scarves, and all proceeds from their sale will go to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
Bees and knitting are two of my passions, so obviously I’ve sent my scarf [...]

Crest of the Wave

I may have been busy working for the past few weeks, but I’ve still managed to find the time to do a bit of knitting. This is the Crest of the Wave scarf, by Judith Jacobs. You can find it on Ravelry, and the pattern’s free.

More embroidered ampersands

This is what’s been keeping me out of trouble in the evenings - embroidering ampersands. And a little flower made from a vintage button, just for good measure.
The larger ones measure 6 inches across, and the smaller ones are four inches.
In order to prevent my house from becoming completely over run by embroidered typography, all [...]

Adding some scarves to the Etsy shop.

So much for spring - it might be May, but it’s still cold enough to need a scarf. And, of course, it’s always winter somewhere in the world!
I’ve just listed half a dozen scarves on Etsy, all hand knitted from Colinette yarns.
I love working with Colinette, but I probably ought to try and sell a [...]

Poor wet wood pigeon…

Yesterday was a good day for my newly-planted vegetable garden (six large pots and a bag for potatoes!), but not such a good day for anyone who doesn’t like getting wet.
You can just see a tiny raindrop bouncing off the back of this poor wet wood pigeon’s head. Bless him!
I might add this picture to [...]

By popular demand - birds!

Well, I asked for feedback on yesterday’s flower photos… and the feedback I received was “where are the birds?”.
So, by popular demand, I now have some photos of birds for sale on Etsy!
