Gone to a good home.

When I posted a picture of my experimental feather & fan scarf, Sara left a comment to say that she was coveting it. I have more scarves than I know what to do with, so it’s now hers!

By a happy coincidence, she’d already bought the perfect scarf pin, for holding it in place. It’s by South4th on Etsy, who makes all sorts of beautiful wooden pins. I think this little bird is my favourite.

Sara’s also hanging out on Etsy – you can find her at Jombolom, where she makes beautiful quality cards.

Again, I think this little bird is my favourite:

  1. Is it possible to love this scarf more now that it’s here in my hands? I think so! It’s so lovely – your knitting is so skilled and you have a great eye for colour – and this little scarf is so cheery. I look forward to wearing it.

Thank you for featuring my shop! 🙂

  2. Can I be cheeky and ask you for the details of the pattern that you used? Is it: Cast on 22 stitches
    R1: K
    R2: K2, P18, K2
    R3: K2, (K2tog) 3 times, (YO, K1) 6 times, (K2tog) 3 times, (YO, K1) 6 times, K2
    R4: K

I can’t quite work out how to repeat a pattern in a row that’s longer than 22 stitches…

  3. Hi Sara – I’m really glad you like it! 🙂

The repeat itself is 18 stitches long. If you write it out like this:

    k2tog 3 times, (yo, k1) 6 times, k2tog 3 times

you can see that you need to have a “k2tog 3 times” on each side of the “(yo, k1) 6 times” for the repeat to work.

    Does that make sense?!
